Three Graces

Welcome!

Lonni has lived a life of art: from lithography and photography in college, to quilting while raising her children, watercolor, sculpture, and many mediums in between. Her endeavor into metalsmithing started circa 1996. Jewelry seemed a natural progression, pulling from past experiences and artistic expressions, culminating with the acute skill and careful craftsmanship that metalsmithing demands. Her skills were honed with a variety of master teachers including, John Cogswell, Ronda Coryell, Tom McCarthy, Fabrizio Acquafresca, Andy Cooperman, Betty Helen Longhi.

The majority of her work is Sterling silver, sometimes including 18K Gold, and sometimes a body of work in Argentium silver. The newest body of work is called the “Abstract Rhythm Series” the works are sculptural and textural, using a process of fusing small components of metal that look like abstract paintings by Kandinsky. You’ll see in the new work hollow forms, and shell forms and domed pieces. Expect to see lots of new stones, layers, and coordinating pieces.

Global Connection: One Earth

This piece was created for the 2020 Halstead Design Challenge. The theme this year is Connection. My piece is based on the idea of Global Connections; living on one earth. When traveling, you make so many connections and gain a better understanding about the world and all of its inhabitants by exploring new places, traditions, history, people, art, architecture and food. The compass in this piece can be disconnected and worn as a separate pendant, thus giving you two pieces of jewelry. The materials include; sterling silver and brass, the stone is a Smokey quartz.

Global Connection: One Earth is available to purchase through SnagSpace.org
